What is a Start-up Business  Coach?

A startup business coach is a professional who provides guidance and support to entrepreneurs who are in the early stages of starting a new business. The coach's role is to help the entrepreneur develop a clear vision and strategy for their business, as well as provide guidance on how to overcome challenges and achieve their goals.

A startup business coach typically has experience and expertise in areas such as business planning, marketing, sales, finance, operations, and management. They may work one-on-one with an entrepreneur or provide group coaching sessions.  The goal of a startup business coach is to help entrepreneurs build a successful business by providing them with the knowledge, skills, and support they need to navigate the challenges and opportunities of the startup journey. They may also provide connections to other resources such as investors, mentors, or networking events to help the entrepreneur grow their business.

What happens in a Business Coaching Session?

Each session is tailored to the client and will vary based on individual needs. In the beginning, we will discuss what you are committed to accomplishing through our work together and we will begin to create a plan to achieve your goals. Periodically, I will give you assignments to help direct your progress. We will work together to acknowledge obstacles, explore alternate perspectives and celebrate successes. With the conclusion of each session, we will revisit your goals and evaluate the next steps that are needed to achieve these results.

Do I really need a Start-up Coach, can't I just do it by myself?

Whether you need a startup business coach or not depends on your specific circumstances and needs. While it is possible to start a business on your own, a startup business coach can provide valuable guidance, expertise, and support throughout the process.  A startup business coach can offer insights based on their experience and knowledge of various business aspects, such as market analysis, business planning, marketing strategies, financial management, and more. They can help you identify potential pitfalls, develop a solid business plan, set achievable goals, and provide accountability to keep you on track.  Working with a startup business coach can also save you time and resources by helping you avoid common mistakes and offering solutions to challenges that may arise. They can provide an objective perspective and offer creative ideas that you may not have considered on your own.  However, it ultimately depends on your comfort level, experience, and available resources. If you have a strong background in business and feel confident in navigating the startup process independently, you may not necessarily require a coach. But if you feel you could benefit from expert guidance, accountability, and support, engaging a startup business coach can be a worthwhile investment in your business's success.

How is Coaching different from Therapy?

While coaching I provide can be therapeutic, it is not therapy. Coaching is distinct from traditional therapy because it is not designed to address psychological issues. While emotional issues may arise, the primary focus of life coaching is to help you identify your goals, achieve them, and develop constructive habits and skills. There is little emphasis placed on the past with coaching, but instead the focus is on creating what you want now and in the future.

What is your cancellation policy?

I require a 24 hour notice to cancel all sessions. Please be sure to contact me if you will not be able to make your scheduled appointment in order to avoid being charged for the session.

How long do people generally work with a Business Coach?

To experience the effectiveness of a businesse coaching program, I suggest clients make an initial three-month commitment. At the end of the three months, we will evaluate progress and discuss options for continued coaching.

Is Business Coaching confidential?

What we discuss will be held in confidence and not shared with others. However, our discussions are not privileged for legal purposes. The privilege of confidentiality that exists for the clergy, therapists and attorneys is not granted to coaching professionals. That said, life coaching is a confidential process, and your personal information will always be protected.
