Use What You Got

The other day I wanted to go to the gym to workout really bad, which does not happen often so I thought I'd jump at the opportunity. I also did not want to bring my children back out again after homework and already spending 8+ hours at school. As I tried to curb my desire to go to the gym I heard the voice of the Lord say, "What do you have?' as I thought about that particular question he interrupted my thoughts by saying, "Use what you got!" I said to myself, "All I got is this Firestick...can't benefit from much, right?"

In the Bible, In 2 Kings 4:1-7 a widow who had two sons, went to Elisha and said “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that he revered the Lord. But now his creditor is coming to take my two boys as his slaves.” Elisha responded, “What shall I do for you? Tell me what you have in your house.” She replied, “Your servant has "nothing" in the entire house except for a flask of oil.”

Your ''nothing" is something. You must stop looking at it as such. What you perceive as nothing, or not that much, or a little bit can be far greater if you change your perspective.

And as far as the "nothing" that I had, I was able to work-out, burn calories and spend time with my sons, which in my case turned out to be way valuable than I anticipated. With the "nothing" the widow had, she was able to pay all her debts….she then used the rest of the proceeds so her and her sons can live out the rest of their lives. In her case, her "nothing" was enough, actually more than enough.
